Prompts: 

• How far have you gotten in your design and construction process?
• You should be finished by Tuesday at 4:30 so you can present on Wednesday. What plans do you have for coming in additional time as needed? Remember you need supervision to be in the design space, so you have to make plans ahead of time!!
• What is the biggest challenge you see at this point? ("finishing on time" is not an option - that's a give for everyone!)

Constructing lighting projects, working for the deadline of Monday afternoon to be finished (If you need more time, schedule flex, activity, and after school time Mon, Tues and Wed as necessary!). Presentations on Thursday in class (presenting your portfolio slide show for the Lighting project).

Finished Amps
Did sound tests with decibel meter
Average was 10%, 7-10 decibel improvement
Some . . . sound quality changed, but decibels remained the same
One or two had a 12-15 decibel improvement
Photographed the finished amps

Introduced the next project : Lights!

We are so close to finishing all of the Amped projects!
Monday we'll test what we have with the decibel meter, take photographs with a background and lights, and finish the testing component of your portfolio.  Wednesday we'll introduce the next project so you can get started on it. Just a few weeks left in the semester!

April 10-14

Nearly done with AMPED!

More cutting files on the laser cutter, making adjustments with the scroll saw, printing 3D files and sanding. Tuesday should be testing a few with the decibel meter, photographing, and finishing construction on the last few.

• Remember it takes time to cut on the laser cutter. After school is an option Tues / Thurs if you talk to me to schedule supervision!

• What are the next 3 steps, in order, that you need to take to make your amp?
• What is a roadblock at this point? How can you / we make it work so you can keep making progress?
• What if any changes to your design have you made since you started having actual, real world parts to look at / test?
• If your next step is cutting layers using the laser cutter, consider coming in early for class on Tuesday 4/4 (Activity is right before)
•  
• REMEMBER TO FINISH UP your design documents (Design Brief, Design SPEC, annotated exploded views that reference your design spec needs, etc. )

Amp Progress March 20-24

Finally putting the pieces together into things that look like our digital designs!
The excitement is palpable as we get Adobe Illustrator files ready for the laser cutter, glue layers of wood and acrylic, sand edges clean and smooth, clean up 3D prints, and more. 

Check back in another week or so to see even more progress!
