Week 15 prompts Due 5/2

  Photos: Photo of your finished amp from the "photo shoot" setup (2 -3 views)

Prompts: 
  • What was the change to the audio with your amp? 
  • Describe the quality of the sound change and note the decibel increase
  • What are you most pleased with in your Amp project? 
  • What is one thing you would do differently if you were to do the project over?

  • What is your "need" or lighting task for your next project? 
  • ***FINISH your research, come in with the 3 examples in depth, a summary of the research overall, and your specific task when you come to class on Wednesday. We'll start designing in Fusion 360*****
  •  
  • REMEMBER TO keep working on revising your documents based on the feedback from the midsemester reports.

April 24-28

Finished Amps
Did sound tests with decibel meter
Average was 10%, 7-10 decibel improvement
Some . . . sound quality changed, but decibels remained the same
One or two had a 12-15 decibel improvement
Photographed the finished amps

Introduced the next project : Lights!
Started the research phase of the project

  Photos: Photos of any construction you did this week (3D printed, laser cut, glued, etc.) - If you are already done, be thinking about the Lighting project next (intro slide show is in your class folder as of Thursday)

Prompts: 
  • What, if anything, do you have left to do?
  • Did you make changes as you were putting your project together? What were they and why?
  • What would you change in your project if you could do it over?

  • If you need more time to work on your Amp, plan with me for Activity, Flex, or after school THIS WEEK please.

April 17-21

Design & Fab
We are so close to finishing all of the Amped projects!
Monday we'll test what we have with the decibel meter, take photographs with a background and lights, and finish the testing component of your portfolio.  Wednesday we'll introduce the next project so you can get started on it. Just a few weeks left in the semester!

  • What is a roadblock at this point? How can you / we make it work so you can keep making progress?

  • Remember it takes time to cut on the laser cutter. After school is an option Tues / Thurs if you talk to me to schedule supervision!

April 10-14

Nearly done with AMPED!

More cutting files on the laser cutter, making adjustments with the scroll saw, printing 3D files and sanding. Tuesday should be testing a few with the decibel meter, photographing, and finishing construction on the last few.

  • What are the next steps you need to do to finish? GOAL: done by Friday 4/14
  • What is a roadblock at this point? How can you / we make it work so you can keep making progress?
  • What if any changes to your design have you made since you started having actual, real world parts to look at / test?
  • Remember it takes time to cut on the laser cutter. After school is an option Tues / Thurs if you talk to me to schedule supervision!

  • REMEMBER TO FINISH UP your design documents by 4/7 (Design Brief, Design SPEC, annotated exploded views that reference your design spec needs, etc. )
